I've been printing out my deer tags for this year, and noticed that, when buying your license online, there is no check-box for EXTRA ARCHERY license...
I already have my "extra anterless" tag(s) purchased and am not confusing them with EXTRA ARCHERY, but I could swear that last year, after filling my ARCHERY tag, there was a check-box for the EXTRA ARCHERY tag..
Anybody recall if that check-box was there last year, or do you just go ahead and purchase the second archery or crossbow tag?
Ahh' hates a'bein' corn-fused....

Ahh' hates a'bein' corn-fused.... I'm pretty sure they did away with that extra archery license. If a hunter was purchasing the bonus antlerless licenses it made more sense to buy the first bonus antlerless license for $24 and then the discounted bonus licenses after that at $15 rather that the extra at $24 and still had to buy the first bonus antlerless at $24. You get to the $15 license quicker. Unintended consequences of the reduced second antlerless license.

Thanks... Actually, you pretty much said what I've been thinking... The extra anterless tag is a stand-alone license, and like you said, it makes getting the second one at reduced price quicker.. Thanks a bunch.

I don't see it listed by name as Extra Archery like it used to be, but on Page 27 of the new reg book it still lists that you can get "2 antlerless or 1 antlered and 1 antlerless" with archery tags "AND bonus antlerless county quota". I take it as you still get 2 archery tags that do not county toward the county bonus quota.
If you are buying licenses, I can see why you might want to skip right to using the bonus antlerless tag, but for those who are exempt from buying licenses, doing away with the extra archery would reduce the number of antlerless that you could get in any one county by that one tag.
That would make a difference to me as Daviess County is back to only 2 bonus antlerless for this year. Which 2 antlerless should be enough for us as long as I don't have someone come along asking for meat like the past two years.
Then again, I had to go out of county to hunt the late antlerless season to fill that request the past two years, too. Probably for the last 4 or 5 years I have just not seen the number of does that I had in the past where I normally hunt.

But that second archery tag can be bought at anytime. It does not have to be bought when you buy the first one. I'd still go direct to the bonus tags and if you fill all those then get your second archery tag.
