Fri morn. me and a hunting buddy decided to go south to one of my honey holes! We ended up with a limit of mallards and a couple of buffs. Tired as heck I thought maybe that would be my last hunt of 2007. HA Ha!! not a chance. I called another buddy of mine and headed back down Sun. moning. We had probably 3-4 dozen greenheads right in front cupped up and landing in the spread when my buddy yells take 'Em. I shout NO! WAIT!. I heard the infamous whistle! Sure enough, A nice group of pintails were headed in. We waited and then I called it..I took 2 shots and dropped a nice pintail drake with about a 9 inch sprig. My buddy didn't even shoot. I asked what happened afterwards and he said.. "Man that was awsome! Iv'e never seen Pintails before!!" He got so caught up seeing them that he didn't think about pulling the trigger!Needless to say there goes another $225.00 on the wall. We didn't shoot as many birds on sun as we did Fri. but It sure was worth it.
