I was complaining about my wifes shoe buying and the many pairs she owns. She came back with my bad habbit of buying tools. I got to thinking about this. First off I don't collect hammers. All mine are users,,,,,,,,,,but do I need 144. That is how many I came up with today in my shop. There are so many here I couldn't get them all in the picture.I put the chainsaw in for size comparision. This picture do not do my hammer "collection" justice. I hope my wife doesn't see this.

Reminds me if the old song - "If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning. I'd hammer in the evening all over this land. I'd hammer out danger. I'd hammer out a warning. I'd hammer out love between a brother and a sister all over this land." Or something like that..

Nice hammers. What's with the colors?
I have a bow stave hoarding problem. I am giving some away to friends. It was either that or add on to the garage.

Actually the ones you can just see in the picture are carpenters adzes. They were used to square up logs. There are a couple coopers adzes in there also which are used in the wood barrel make business. My grubbing hoes are with my shovels, rakes, pitchforks, post hole diggers, another pretty impressive collection. I at one time had over 150 axes, hatchets. I did actually did collect them, but I sold most of them on Ebay and now down to about 30. You guys would be amazed at what some of the old rare axe and hatchets bring.

Many an old barn in my neck of the woods are still sporting adze-shaved beams, dove-tail joints, & wood pins.

I'll bet you didn't offer free shipping, No But I have offered to cut the handles off so the head will fit in a small flat rate box to save on shipping. Most axe collectors cut the handles off to save space when they make their display. Since 2003 when I became a member on Ebay my records show I have sold over 600 complete chainsaws. That my real hobby buying non running saws and fixing them and reselling them. Here's a few chains that I have refurbished over the years that I keep on hand. Each stack hanging there is about 8 inches thick. There's a lot of weight hanging there.

When you have a nightmare, is it about not having the right tool?
