One of my property farmers has decided to do DIY Hunts while he builds a lodge for full outfitting in the future. This is in the #1 Deer Harvest County in the State for 2013; Harrison. All properties have corn and beans growing directly on them. www.merkfarmshunting.com/in-diy-hunts.htmlContact me through our website.

"You must have booked a DIY Hunt and the rate is $50/day/person for scouting."

Here are a few of the questions I am getting....besides the price. So here is how it goes and what you get. LOL
This is a large farmer with about 4000 acres. He is only doing this on a recent 800-1000 he recently purchased. I will show you the properties myself or the farms wildlife manager will. You will check in with us nightly at the farm or near Corydon to discuss any game harvested and hunting plans for tomorrow.
There are only 4 hunters allowed at any one time unless they are in the same party.
You can also come and do some of your own scouting in the months of July/August.
All stands must be climbers or blinds and be removed after each hunt.

I hope the hunters before you didn't stomp all over the property. Nothing like wondering who is hunting on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Imagine that I didn't see anything on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Cha Ching our check cleared the bank.
Why wouldn't you just try to lease a property and try to have some control of property. I currently lease to hunt.
I know I've been a smartas_ but is this type of hunting popular?
Pay to scout,,, Please

Hey, I get where you all are coming from. Here are some dynamics at work.
1. Having and owning land is expensive and risky. I am shocked by people that think an owner is carrying all of this risk and expense so people can use their land for "free". 2. Sometimes I have price control and sometimes I do not. Most of the time prices that are high and inflexible represent the owners wishes. I love making 10% of something and not 100% of nothing. 3. I prefer for people just to lease land from me but this farmer is not into that. 4. I don't think bringing a max of 4 hunters to a place at any one time is money grubbing by any means! I would be shocked if an outfitter only had that many people in. 5.We put DIY so that people understand it is not fully-guided. You are not on your own though and you do get a lot of service. There is a also a house on site but the owner is getting it lodge ready in 2015. 6. Bottom line is that if you have a great thing going keep it and don't worry about what others are doing.

do you pick up leases from other leasing agencies then charge a little more for them to lease yourself? i noticed a property i had seen listed on another site, then all of a sudden it's leased and listed on your site.....
