We had a couple fun hunts. The first day we were in the mallards pretty good. We saw hundreds of mallards, but getting them into us proved to be a little tough (I had to be on the call A LOT more than I'm used to). As much as I would like to have all greenheads in this bunch we still had a really fun hunt. My dog had a few FANTASTIC retrieves. One was on a cripple that was pursued about 85 yards, while dragging a decoy . Great job Tori! The second hunt we found ourselves surrounded by hundreds of mallards and hundreds of geese (just not real close), but it was the divers that made the hunt really fun. We ended up with a nice limit of birds. I've never shot a goldeneye, so I couldn't pass up on a single hen that came into our spread. Maybe I can sneak in on a drake goldeneye next time. The Canada came in from what seemed like 3,000 feet in the air. What a cool site to see him drop right into our small group of floaters from that high up. He came in dead silent also. Tori, my dog, had another AWESOME day with a few fantastic retrieves. One was a stubborn Bufflehead that would dive every time she would get close. Lets just say Tori slept for about 12 hours straight Both the locations that we hunted were public waterways which made it that much more rewarding. Hunting pressure really can make a hunt challenging/frustrating all in the same sentence.

Thats a lot of butterballs! I love shooting (at) buffies. They look like little fighter planes low decking the water, usually with my "artillary" shots kicking up spray right behind them.
