After bein critisized about no digital camera.. i was hesitant to post this... but i am freakin out excited so im gonna anyways.. you can belive if want.. if not..... guess dont matter.
Hunted the pond i went last wednesday with 2 of my good buddies this mornin. Broke about 1" to 1 1/2" of ice this mornin gettin out.... busted a decent size hole. About a 6 decoy floaters, 12 full bodies on ice.. and a lucky duck ( spinner). shot 6 drakes within about 15 minutes of shootin time... One had this funky thing on his leg.... was some sort of a band.... somethin about " Miner foundation??" not sure what that is
Instant "SCHWING"!!!
Then boy did it get slow... after an hour of seein nothin . we went to lunch.. came back out to do some pheasant huntin around the same property. While huntin there were hundred... and literally hundreds of ducks tryin to get into this hole for about an hour.... so we decide... heck lets throw the dekes back out and put the dogs up. So we did... shot our other 6 mallards in a short period of time... mind you its 1pm. As we are pickin up we see this flock of about 75 ducks comin over the trees... already locked... we jump back in the fallen down tree (our blind) and look for "gooofy" ducks. and wouldnt ya know who's leadin the pack. 2 drake pintails and a drake greenwing are fightin for the lead.... after about 5 cirlclin jobs and overlookin the whole flock for my wigeon (which was not seen)..... We hammer the 2 drake pinny's. You talk about 3 guys hootin and hollerin like school kids! 12 mallards... 2 drake pinny's.. and 1 jack miner band... WHAT A FRIGGIN DAY!!!
