I have hunted the big lake for a lot of years and much much respect for her. You need the right equipment to hunt on her. I not saying that they didn't have the right equipmnet but you need to be aware of what can be done safely and what can't be done.

That is too bad, I worked on Lake MI doing fish research for 2 seasons. We worked out of a 20' Boston Whaler. A couple times we got caught in waves that would swamp the boat up to our calves, glad it was summer months. I'd be too chicken sh-- to duck hunt the lake.
It goes from gentle rollers to nasty real fast under the right conditions. Then get a good south wind and the lake is glass. Be carefull out there guys.
