Here it is the middle of duck season and nobody is talkin ducks. Lets post-up some kill results,or scouting reports. By what I read on other sites thing are slow in other areas also. Here in northern Indiana things are very slow except for some shooting at the Kankakee. How are other game preserves doing, are your local towns and cities holding any birds. The city of Laporte has several thousand geese but only a handful of ducks.

John, I would go up there with not much expectations with that pick, and that way you won't be disappointed. Usually the average up there on the last few blinds picked is less than 1 bird per hunter, like .75 or something, so I would expect like 1 or 2 birds killed total. Hopefully you'll be surprised though!

I've been busy trying to put meat in the freezer in the deer woods. Hope you Northerners save us some birds.

I talked to a couple guys who run some of the private old clubs around the KANKAKEE and things are as slow as they can get. Some club members are drawing into the KANK just to see ducks. They quess there is about 3-4 thousand ducks in the area and maybe 700 geese. This is nothing compared to about 10 years ago when there would be approx. 20-30 thousand. I have been hunting this area for over 40 years and it's getting worse and worse every year. We are loosing our migration route.

For ever is an awful long time, hunt the right areas and you will see close to that if not more. Good thing is you don't need that many to have a good hunt but it is cool to see...
