Ok, there is ONE question I would have asked and maybe the bidders did and I expected this to go "high" but........dang. I guess I didn't want one after all? (unless it's in a pawn shop!) 700 BDL 250 Savage. I knew they made one in a CLASSIC rifle.....I'd have had to ask for some barrel codes myself. I was NOT aware one was made in a standard BDL.....I guess others thought the same. I opened this today to see how it ended. BIDDING WAR!!!!!! www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=392288916

Yes, that kind of price, based only upon 2 poor quality "distant" pics and very limited text should raise some serious questions, or very red flags!! For example, nothing is said in the posted text if the rifle is all original as produced by Remington. The text does say that "Metalwork has our rich, deep bluing for beauty and protection." [my underline of the word our] Buyers beware IMO.

Photos were in the exact place on the table, same angle. I should have looked but I think the wording was a copy and paste from somewhere on Remington's website. NO mention of condition either. Serious questions for sure. Curious as to if either come up for sale again later on. That kind of money I could buy a new 308 and have it custom barreled......in SS, fluted, and buy one HECK of a scope for it too. I about fainted when I saw the bidding. God Bless

Back in 1996, when living in Evansville, In. I was at a Gun Show located at the 4-H Center, and saw a NIB Winchester Model 70 Feather weight in 7 m/m Mauser complete with open sights. While this wasn't a Pre '64 Model 70 it was unfired condition and was part of an estate sale. I paid $450 for it, owned it for several years and had harvested several Deer with it in Western Kentucky, including my longest shot on a Deer @ 378 yards. I traded it for a Ruger Model 77 MKII .270 several years ago, but while this current Ruger is a very fine rifle, I wish now I'd kept the Winchester too. I reloaded for the 7 X 57 m/m and received very fine accuracy.

The 7x57 and 6.5x55 have just been around and liked by many for TOO MANY YEARS for there to be no reason for it. Someday maybe lol Did notice the buyer's OTHER rifle purchase was a 700 in 221 Fireball for over 1200. Dude likes his short action hard to find 700!! God Bless him. Money don't make the world go round but it sure helps buying stuff like these LOL I mean no offense to the buyer, none if he should dumb into this. Envious, I am. God bless

When I was at the last 1500 gun I ask a guy that has parts if he had any 700 receivers for a project build that I had in mind. He said he came there with 6 of them and one guy bought them all for 400$ a piece.
