The last couple years my father has come down here to hunt. He bought the non-res license for 150 bucks and it was only good for firearms season and he could only take a buck. Can he buy a non-res archery license and hunt with that all year (oct 1 - jan 4)? i only ask because it doesn't specify in the license portion of the guide for bow/gun/etc. (at least I'm not seeing it if it does).... Part 2 of the question, what is the limit with that license? 1 + 1 or 2 antlerless? or is it still just a buck?

What are the benefits of the deer bundle for multi-season hunters?
The benefits are: •The ability to hunt multiple seasons (except the urban season) and harvest up to three deer. •The opportunity to hunt antlered deer in the archery/crossbow, firearms, and muzzleloader seasons until you harvest an antlered deer. •Increased cost savings the more seasons you hunt.
What are some examples of things you CAN do with the deer bundle license? •You can hunt for your antlered deer during archery season while filling antlerless bags. If you do not have an antlered deer come by during archery season, pick up a legal firearm and go out during that season. •You can have three licenses available during firearms season, and if you don't fill them, take your muzzleloader out during muzzleloader season, or take your firearms out in the special antlerless season and try to harvest an antlerless deer. •You can have a license privilege that allows you to harvest 1 antlered and 2 antlerless or 3 antlerless deer during the archery season, flip back and forth using different types of legal archery equipment (long/recurve/compound/cross) during the archery season if you prefer. If you choose not to harvest all three deer with archery equipment, you can pick up a legal firearm and hunt during firearms, muzzleloader, or special antlerless season until you reach your bag limit for the deer bundle.

i dont know why i didnt just do this first... just called DNR... You can buy an archery license for 150. with that license you can take one of either sex from oct thru jan. which is a better deal than the firearms allowing only a buck. obviously the bundle is best deal, but he just doesnt want to spend 300 bucks on it not knowing how much time he will get in out here.

I understand that, I am planning on just spending $150, unless I buy a military refuge license as well.

If you buy the bundle and get drawn for a military/refuge hunt you can use the bundle tags on that hunt. That would have you spending the same money and not be stuck with a one hunt license.

He's in the military and has base access so he doesnt need to get drawn for a hunt.

I have used the bundle for the last two seasons and I love it. The fact that I can hunt in any season and even take 3 antlerless deer is a big bonus to me.
Even if you only want to harvest two deer instead of three its still cheaper to buy the bundle and you have that option for the third deer.

The problem tho is having to buy the bundle as a non-resident. Sure, 65 bucks for us is great, but it's 300 for non-residents. And for some (like my dad) its not worth it to pay 300 bucks when he may only come to hunt for MAYBE a couple weekends throughout the year.

There just isn't many 200 inch deer here. Sure there have been a few publicized in recent years, but finding them can be a lifetime long task.
