Well I hope its a major snow goose snow storm this weekend. Headed out tomorrow for my first guided snow goose hunt in Southern Illinois. Hope our group has a great time and hunt. They say there is a lot of birds in the area right now.

Wells guys I would love to tell you we killed a truck load of snows, but that just didn't happen. We did see thousands of snows and the ducks that were coming and going were unreal. Big numbers of ducks and geese.
We did hunt out of very nice blinds and had a good time with our group.
We ended up scratching our 5 on Sunday and unfortunately only a single bird yesterday.
Oh well that's why its hunting. I will have my son post some pictures this evening.

There are thousands of geese in the corn fields next to the river this year, I have never seen so many. Yesterday the fields were just speckled black with them from the river up to the road. There were some bald eagles in the trees, probably just slobbering looking at all of that food in the field.

Well at least you didn't attract local law enforcement like so other hunters on here do.  To tell you the truth, I think that if the snowmobile wasn't there, they would have never given the field a 2nd look. With us in whites, from the road we were just a blob of snow if we didn't move. |
