They look good, but how do they sound? any sound files? Some are raspy and some are not. The yellowheart is a little deeper because if the slate soundboard. I'll make some sound files one day. Never really have needed too, so I haven't.

I personally have bought, used and successfully called in long beards with 2 of his calls and will absolutely buy from him again. As a matter of fact, I was on his webpage again yesterday and I had a hard time not pulling the trigger on another call (the cherry/bloodwood bronze glass with the dymondwood/maple striker). Only reason I didn't is because I don't really need another one yet. Did I take a risk without hearing the call first, sure. But did it pay off, you bet! I would recommend his calls for sure!

Some are raspy and some are not. The yellowheart is a little deeper because if the slate soundboard. I'll make some sound files one day. Never really have needed too, so I haven't. Most Call makers I know and deal with have sound files ( SS custom calls, Dad's calls, Paul's calls, Darrin Dawkins, Steve Mann, Scot Baymore ,Larry Gresser Prairie Game calls, Lonnie Sneed..just to name a few etc..) , or you can call them on phone and have them run the call before you buy it. soundcloud.com/ss-custom-calls/ss-custom-game-over-glassI personally will not buy a call without hearing it run. I strongly encourage anyone looking to buy a call from anyone to listen to a call before making a purchase. You have a point. All of the call makers you listed are well known, accomplished callmakers. Buying blindly from any of them would not worry me one bit. I run calls over the phone for a lot of guys. Funny things happen when guys hear calls over the phone. Like when you run the same call twice and the guy loves one and hates the other. Larry is a great guy. He helped me with my copper call when I started making it. Heck of a deer hunter too. Have you ran any of Jimmy Schaffer's pots? Another good one.
