I was quoted a wait time of up to 16 weeks depending on whether the die bodies were in stock. Ben at Hornady is up front and easy to work with. The quick turn around was unexpected but greatly appreciated.

The dies were at my door when I got home. I checked and the order was placed on 9/10. I'm guessing they have the die bodies in stock to have that kind of turn around.

I've done investigating this week.
Who didn't work: AJ Brown Arms Phoenix Guns
Who DID work: White River Guns and Ammo (Washington, IN) - Barrels and Ammo Just Hunt Guns and Gunsmithing (Wabash, IN) - Barrels and Ammo Match Grade Machine (Utah) - Barrels
Also, I learned that if you are considering the .358 Hoosier, then you may also want to consider the .358 WSSM.

You do NOT want to consider the .358 WSSM unless the gun already comes with a good batch of brass or you ALREADY know where you can get your hands on some new parent brass (best of luck with that!!). WSSM brass dried up a couple years ago and is almost none-existent unless you want to pay BIG bucks for it on Gunbroker!! Getting brass is the issue with the .358 WSSM, if it were not it would be a great choice. I like mine and my wife likes hers. If I were building two rifles today, it would be a couple .358 Hoosiers.

Now I am uncertain about this, but some of the "W.S.S.M." brass [May] be discontinued. If you want to build a rifle that would be similar to a .358 WSSM; you might consider taking .458 Brass or even .300 Win. Mag. brass and shorten them to 1.8" and necking down to .358". However, this would require extra steps that you wouldn't have to do with forming a .358 Hoosier case. I'd stick with a rifle chambered in .358 Hoosier as advised by omegahunter.

So would all this be worth it if the HPR bill passes?

So would all this be worth it if the HPR bill passes? Not to me; I've always felt it would happen so I haven't made the investment. Took a while but looks like it's going to happen this time.
