Well, we hit the SZ this morning.... Took the trip down yesterday evening for scouting.. Located another HORNETS NEST of woodies... Man is there a bunch of them. We ran up a flock of atleast 100+... Lots of smaller groups all over the place.... Set up on a outside bend where we had maximum visibility both directions.. The birds were up and moving real early this morning with the clear skies over-head.. My little girl was having a hard time with all the activity in the early mins,, but we opted to hold-out till good light for some good shots.. Here she is watching the early birds workin around us Then after we took our first bird,, when she sat back down I noticed blood on her face and had to get a pic...She looks so tough with blood Here was me with a good lookin drake After we had our woodie limit,, I started taking pics of birds that were landing with us.. I had a easier time shooting the gun at them.. These would have died....Its a PWB camera,, so not the best pics,, but you get the point... And he was the victory shots on the way back to the ramp.. We took only drakes and ended with 4... Saw a handfull of mallards while scouting,, but none flew where we set-up this morning....I'll give it a thumbs up trip,, except fer the gas bill

It looks to me like it was worth the money spent on gas, glad you had a good time down here in the SZ.

Day 2 was not as eventful.... Must have sent them to the next county on Sat... We didnt see a quarter of the birds..... But the weather is not exactly made for duckin... We could have had our birds early,, but was hoping for some good light shooting again and it backfired... After it was good and light,, the birds held tight... Bummer... Oh-well,, I got to meet gooneygoose and we had a good morning watching the sun-rise over the river,, so all was not that bad ;D ;D ;D and we killed a unknown duck? I swear it was a hen woodie when it came flyin down the river,, but by the time my little girl brought it to us,, it changed into some kinda merganser We'll have to do it again gooneygoose,,,, glad to meet another non-prostaffer
