With all the different brands of calls , Foiles , Duck commander , Zink , R-N-T , quack head , echo calls , etc . how do you pick out the right one for you or is it more of a call preference ? I know there is a difference between a wooden call compaired to an acrylic call besides the price .

It's best to go somewhere and try different ones. For me originally it was how the call fit around my mouth and how comfortable it was when blowing on it. Next was which call sounded best to me at that time and how easy I thought it was to operate. Not sure your level of experience with a call but you might find yourself switching models or makers down the road as your skill set progresses.
Unfortunately around here it's slim pickings on finding someone who carries several different models and manufactrures.

Duck call I tend to go on the cheap end and don't get too caught up in the different species like wood duck, teal, etc... I found my favorite to be a Hadel's DR85. It may be $20 now but they are ducky as all get out and easy to blow. I have bought some upper end calls to play around with and never really liked them. Felt they were made more for the calling contest folks vs. hunting. I am sure there are good ones out there but never wanted to spend money looking for one when I had great results for myself.
Goose calls on the other hand I have a SMH by foils that I have had for 10+ years that is acrylic and a wooded short reed that I can't recall the name of any longer. But that ps OLT you have is a dandy call, lots of honkers have been killed as a result of the sounds coming from them over the years.

Best thing is to go try them somewhere. See what you like. I recommend RNT and Echo. I also use local call makers calls too. Sometimes you can form a good friendship buying calls from a local maker. My local recommendations are HDC Hunts Duck Calls (IN) and LynchMob Calls (MI).
