Less than 2 weeks ago I had just started kicking around the idea of a 336 in 35 Remington and today I got out to see what my new to me 336 could do. After hearing of some folks successfully doing the 35 Remington "short" I decided, about 2 weeks ago actually, that I would like to try this. Today I got out with some development loads using the 200 grain FTX and Leverevolution powder. I pretty much stuck with the Hodgdon min and max charges with (9) three-round charges at 1/2 grain difference each, 37.5 through 41.5 grains. I shot some 150 grain factory ammo just to work on getting the scope adjusted close enough for groups at 100 yards. I did make some scope adjustments between groups so that is why you will see that I am all over the targets location wise. Also, charges one and two were really low and partially off the target paper so I am not posting those...they were pretty big groups anyways. It looks to me that the upper charges are going to be my go to group-wise. Group No.6 looked pretty good as well. I am no expert but I think I am getting some stringing. Almost without fail, my 3rd shot would end up quite a bit further than the 1st two and always lower POI than the 1st two. A couple like No.8 I know I pulled the 3rd shot to add to the distance. I need to get some more loads together and fine tune my scope adjustment and then it's antlerless only game on! ![](http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/HuntMeister1/IMG_20131222_185103_219_zps3410baae.jpg) ![](http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/HuntMeister1/IMG_20131222_185129_871_zps8815af6a.jpg) ![](http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/HuntMeister1/IMG_20131222_185158_865_zps24818c3c.jpg) ![](http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/HuntMeister1/IMG_20131222_185214_850_zpsdff239bb.jpg)

Looks like you're well on your way!
Those first 2 shots ought to get the job done.
I believe that vertical is fairly typical with the Marlins as the barrel heats up.

Yeah, looks like you can count on the first two shots to be under an inch for your upper end loads. Get that scope set where you want it and let 'em fly.
