Okay guys I'm looking for a nice light to conect to my gun for some Coyote hunting. Not looking to spend $1,000 but $100-200 would be reasonable I guess. Looking for a light that I can use while deer hunting/blood hunting. And then also attach it to my gun for some night hunts. Want to be able to change the lense to green for the night hunting. Also would like a light that's rechargable so I don't burn up batteries and $$$$. Don't know what there is out there and this might be a stupid statement but would like something that has a beem that can reach around 100 yards. That might be stupid cause there might not be one out there like that but that's what this is for. Any idea's would be appreciated.. Thanks BB

100yds is quite reasonable. Mine is the only one I've played with and it is red only, so that's no help to you. Your price range will get you a good light no problem.

Correction: First Check out this link: forum.gofoxpro.com/fp_forums/showthread.php?t=7378You can find much better deals in the links provided at the web site forum above. Check out the Wicked 400 Marksman set at www.allpredatorcalls.com and you will find what you want there. You get two rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries, the light in the LED color of your choice (White, Red or Green) ((you can buy extra led light bulbs at $25 each)) and a battery charger that will work with a cigarette lighter plug and or a 110 volt AC plug. You get adapter cords for the 12v cigarette lighter plug or a regular 110 volt AC house hold outlet. You can charge up two batteries at one time. Charge time runs from 10 hours to 4 hours depending on the state of discharge. These are 2600 milliamp/hr batteries. You can buy extra batteries as back ups on many web sites. These are readily available from other places too. Tennergy makes good batteries. You several adapters to allow you to attack the light to a rifle scope or directly to a 1913 Picatinny rail on your AR rifle. There is a shot gun adapter for the light as well. The light is bright and will do the job and let you see the target out to 250 yards at night using a good rifle scope. The white LED Light will reach out even farther. You should be able to see eye shine out to 400 yard depending on the weather. You won't see very far on a foggy night but on a clear night you can see farther. The light is only 1" in diameter and about 8 " long. It's very light and compact It has five modes of operation. High, medium and low and also strobe and SOS mode. You change mode by simply depressing the on/off button half way down. To turn it on or off you depress the button on the end of the light all the way down. You also get a connection that has a cap on one end and a switch on the other end of a coiled short wire. You attach the switch to your rifle with Velcro and the screw on the cap to the end of the light itself. The scope mounts come in 1" and 30MM sizes so you get two different mounts for the light on rifle scopes. Updated Feb 15 2015. Check out the www.gofoxpro.com forums. I think there is a post in the night hunting threads that shows links to some of the less expensive lights. These are basically the same as the wicked 400 light but much less expensive. You can save a boat load of money buying from these links. Check out www.wickedhuntinglights.comI got the Marksman Kit with the Green LED light Bulb and plan on ordering two more LED bulbs that I can use to change the light to either red or white. This will add another 50 bucks to the cost of my light but then I'll have all three colored LED light bulbs to play with. I also plan on buying some more batteries to keep around

Another good brand to look into is night eyez. I have had a good experience with the light while night hunting. Unfortunately you cannot change lenses with this light it only comes in red. Therefore will not make a good blood tracking set up. Yet pressure switches are silent and easy to use. Also the ability to dial in the beam strength and save settings on the light is very helpful particularly when scanning and not wanting to spook light shy yotes. I would give the set up a look

That looks like an exact copy of my XLR 250 that is made in the United States.

Thanks guys... That Wicked kit looks good. If I went with it I think I would just go with the green light. The red looks cool but they even say it's not better than the green to the naked eye. A couple of these others are good lights but some don't reach as far as I would like 200 yards. And some are to much for my smaller price range. $150 sounds good. At least to me... Just have to make sure the wife doesn't see this... LOL Thanks again guys. BB

I've got one. You might see eye shine at 100 yards, but that's it. Mine is very dim. They have a 250 yard model as well, that one might be better.

Also the ability to dial in the beam strength and save settings on the light is very helpful particularly when scanning and not wanting to spook light shy yotes. I would give the set up a look The one thing I wish the Wicked 400 and the other light would have is a dimmer switch like the Coyote Light and the Lightforce lights have. My Wicked light can change from high to med to low to strobe light to SOS and back to High again. But I can't slowly ramp the light intensity up like I want. BTW: did you know that a lot of these $150 dollar lights are selling for about $25 bucks on the web and are the same thing as the Wicked Light. Down to the ability to charge the light with the batteries inside the light. I've posted about this on a few other predator hunting forums too. If I were to buy another light like my Wicked 400 I'd to to the web and do a Google Search for CREE flashlights and chose on of those for about $25. I already have a connector to attach the light to my Nikon Rifle Scope that I got from Amazon.com. I just ordered some night hunting sights from Amazon.com. I hope I can figure out how to get the $60 EOTech rebates for these two items. I'm getting an EOTECH EXPS3-4 Holographic Weapon Sight and the M-33 flip to the side magnifier to go with the Weapon Sight. I feel that these two sights should cover all type of hunting situation. Hunting in thick cover and day and night hunting situation from short range to long range out to 300 yard using the M-33 magnifier and the 4 dot reticle. I'm going to update my FoxPro FX3 or sell it and get a Shockwave sometime soon. I also want to get the Hunting GPS chip for IN in the future.
