I know about the arguing between what brand is your choice. Let's get past that. What's your spreads going to be like this year? The opener here in Central IL isnt until the 27th but the north zone opener is the 20th. Fortunately it's about 10 minutes north of where we do the majority of our duck hunting anyways. Here's what we hunted over last year (all GHG): 6 lifesized woodies, 6 oversized pintails, 24 oversized mallards, 8 lifesized geese with flocked heads and not pictured are 12 lifesized hotbuy mallards and 2 mojos. Added to that this year will be 2 dozen more GHG lifesized mallards, 6 lifesized gadwalls, and 6 oversized black ducks. Maybe we'll end up with 4 more goose floaters too.

I use decoys from just about all the companies out there. I will use anything from 5 to about two hundred decoys when huntin water. It just depends on what is going on.

I dunno..... I don't think one brand pulls them in any better than another. I think location kills more ducks than what kind of decoy you are using. I've got bags full of Flambeau and Remington dekes and think they do fine.

I've got bags full of Flambeau and Remington dekes and think they do fine. I think when they see dekes everyday on their flight from Canada they tend to become smarter. Hence the more realistic the better chance of getting them close. I agree though if you're hunting birds that dont see too much pressure you can kill them with just about anything.

I just don't think a duck can pick out one deke from another from 40 or 50 yards.... Sure, some have incredible detail when you hold them in your hand, but when you stick them out on the water I don't think there's much difference. Just my .02.

I wont know what I'll put out until the day comes. I know I've got plenty of dekes but as always I WANT MORE!!!!.
Puddle Ducks....all GreenHead Gear (a dozen fullbody mallards, 8 doz floater mallards and a couple puddler packs)
Diver Ducks....Flambeau's I painted into divers (I dont get to do much diver hunting) (about 4 doz)
Canadas....Bigfoot and GHG full bodies, RealGeese, outlaws, flambeau shells (in all about 12 doz)
Snows....Sillosocks, Northwinds, Carrylite shells, still have some Texas Rags (you dont even want to know how many)
I do think that more realistic you can afford to buy the better. If I was rich I'd be shooting over stuffers or DSD for all my geese.
