Is it legal to hunt deer with an air gun? Are you restricted to the firearms season since it is not a "firearm"?

It is NOT legal to hunt deer in Indiana with an air gun. The administrative rule states that it has to be a shotgun, muzzleloader, archery equipment, crossbow, handgun, or a rifle that has a specified case length. Since an air rifle does not have a case, and it is not any of the other equipment allowed, it would be illigal to hunt deer in Indiana with an Air gun.
