I'm just curious if anyone else hunts this area (near Mitchell)? I've had some pretty good luck there this year, but it can get crowded during firearms season. I've got a spot that i like to go to, but wondering if there are any other good ones.

Those look like some nice deer. Sounds like you got a pretty good thing going where you are at.

I hunt down there and have have decent success there. I killed 2 doe during archery. But I haven't seen many bigger bucks this year.

Does your buddy know that his vest isn't legal as far as fulfilling the hunter orange requirement?

Can't have a camo pattern, has to be solid orange

That was my first thought when I seen the vest. Don't believe it can have patterns in it. Solid blaze orange, with small logos generally being accepted. Nice deer by the way.

Although the law is the law, I think if he was confronted by a CO, they should give him the benefit of the doubt.

That vest may not be technically legal, but in reality, it's a lot more inches of orange than I typically wear, which is just a big knit cap.

I'm seeing some solid orange behind him. Maybe a cap or face mask. I don't know though. Maybe he just took it off for the pic

Pretty good actually. Had about a dozen run by me a couple weeks ago, and i hear em all day every day i'm out there. I had a REAAALY nice tom come within about 50 yds before he spotted me.

Nice deer. How's the turkey population? It's good. I killed my first bird there. And see Turkeys almost every time I go out.

Congrats! Not that there is anything wrong with it but I also noticed the smooth-bore vent-rib with bead-sights. I assume that it shoots rifled slugs in good groups.
