When was the last time you saw a Grouse ? And what County ?
Have any of you noticed their population increasing in some areas over the last few years ? I know their numbers are way down from what they were back 20 to 30 years ago.

If memory serves, 2005, Morgan county. Went skunked in 2006 and once in 2007. Have hung it up since.

I think I saw one last year on my property in Crawford County, but I'm not sure. One of my buddies claims he did see one there. I kept hearing birds flying around my stand this year (I put a cover on it, so I couldn't see much) that sounded like small turkeys (like the sound of a heavy turkey trying to fly, but much smaller) and I was wondering what it was.

In the last two days out I flushed 5 separate ruffed grouse on our farm. Pretty neat to see they are doing okay still down there.
