I don't have any friends so I hunt alone..........and I like the peace and quiet.
When we had the duck club for approx.30 years it was fun cooking, playing cards joking around but all things come to pass.

I usually bow hunt alone and I have come to really enjoy the peace and quiet of being by myself. If I feel the need for contact I will just text buddies who are hunting at their properties. During gun season in IL we have a full deer camp of 8 guys ranging in age from 58 to 13 and as I get older it is something that I look forward to every year even if the hunting sucks deer camp is always fun. You just can't replace that bond you have with family and friends in deer camp. Some of the best memories I have are around the fire at night telling stories.

10 pointer, I have hunted a lot solo, but this 1st weekend I will have my Son with me. I to enjoy hunting solo, but do enjoy having someone with me also, to talk with on Radio's, and even the drive to the woods, My son Is old enough to hunt by him self, But I just installed new Life Lines on all or stands, and at 4 stands it was expensive, But Mom was happy, we both wear Hss Vest, Just now we have new life lines, so I will also fill better. I have never used the life line until reading a story this past week about a Young Hunter lost his Life, By not having one on, spend the money, and if you need one I have several I will Give to someone, they are the cheaper one but nothing is better than nothing, so Shoot me a Message if you need one. Please Be safe Guys, someone wants you Home tonight.

I hunt so much I have two main buddies. Today I was alone because one of them messed his shoulder up and the other had to work. My wife prefers I hunt with someone. I enjoy hunting both ways although I tend to be more productive alone.

In the past I spent a lot of opening morning gun seasons with my Dad but for the 2nd year in a row it looks like I will be hunting by myself unless my son decides to go. The few properties I hunt are rather small and 2 can be crowd unless hunting in a double stand together. I don't mind hunting alone, in fact I kind of enjoy not having to wait on someone else to get ready or deciding when to leave or what not but I do miss sharing the hunt with someone. Last week I had planned on hitting big oaks with my Dad but he ended up having some minor heart issues and was in the hospital a few days before so weren't able to go. Texting other friends about there hunts is almost like hunting with them so that's good. Just wondering how many of you mainly hunt alone also? Hello 10 point, I hunt alone, but the one day that I hunted last year was a blast with others. Sure, I was in a blind by myself, but there were 3 others along for the trip. I thoroughly enjoyed their company; it was a lot of fun. Actually, I cancelled my Wisconsin trip until I could go with someone. I hunt alone now and enjoy it too for what it is, but I think everything is better when it's shared. Hey, I didn't know that there was such a thing as a minor heart issue that would put one in the hospital for a few days. You must be a tough young man. I would probably want to be off work a month for each day that I was in the hospital. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I hope your dad is better now.

Usually alone on deer hunts and love it. Like to hunt with friends and family but like things on my own terms and the soul searching that comes with hours of me in a tree

I have never sat in a blind or two person tree stand with anyone before. Even when I go with a buddy, we just spread out so I still get that peacefulness that comes with hunting alone.

I hunt by myself but I can assure you i am never "ALONE" in the HNF. I swear I do not know where all the people come from on opening weekend of gun season. I think there are less people at walmart. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Pretty much alone 99% of the time except when the wife wants to go along on the occasional day trip. I always have one person who knows where I will be hunting so they at least have an idea where to start looking if I disappear.

I hunt alone the majority of the time. Between the two places I hunt, I have quite a few stands. All of them are named. My hunting buddy and my wife both know all the stand names and locations. We also have arial photograph maps on paper and digital that have all stand locations marked. They always know which stand I am in. I also know which stand my buddy is in if he is down by himself. I think that is a really important safety precaution.

I just told my landowner that if he saw my truck in the same spot for a couple days that he might want to come looking for me.

I usually try to hunt with my wife but we hunt different spots, for the last couple of seasons she hasn't been able to go though and because of health problems she probably won't this year either.

I hunt alone because my sons and my long-time friends all live far away. I wish they lived closer because I enjoy the camaraderie.

Most of my hunting is done alone. I am happy with that. I've never been in a deer camp setting, but I am sure that it is a fun time.

I hunt alone most of the time. My favorite hunts though are when I take my kids or wife so they can learn and understand why I hunt. I always hunt the gun opener with a few others as well for Deer Camp and really enjoy that experience as we all spread out and anticipate who will be the first to harvest. I enjoy hunting bow season alone and gun with a partner or a few others. I always make sure someone know my hunting plan just in case something goes wrong while hunting alone.

I'm with Throbak. Don't want or need company in the woods. Did like deer camps back in the olden days, or was that dinosaur camp?

Really depends on the day. I enjoy all the time spent in God's creation. Usually if I have company it is kids or new hunters, but the best hunting with company is waterfowl.

I usually hunt alone. I am taking my nephew opening weekend but after that all by myself. It's nice but having help and extra ears and eyes are nice also.
