Didnt' want to mess with antlerfreak's thread on "unrecovered Buck" so I started a new one on about the same topic. My uncle happened across a really nice 10 pointer yesterday. It was dead at the bottom of a deep ravine. It was gut shot and had probably been expired for about 4-5 days when he happened upon it.
Wish the shooter would have gotten himself/herself the help of a tracking dog. This was a nice buck and i'm sure the shooter spent many hours looking for it. SAD they didn't recover it.
Despite having yet to harvest a buck myself (ever), I'm sure even a seasoned hunter would have been proud to have this buck on his/her wall. I'll have to get the picture off my uncle's phone camera and post it up. Maybe someone will recognize this trophy. Can't be too many folks out there that got to draw on, and hit a 10 pointer, that failed to recover him.
You'll understand if I don't give away the exact location but it is on public land and in the Bloomington area.

I would love to see a picture. Maybe call a CO and recover the rack as well.

...and I thought I was just dreaming about gutting a big 10. I must have been sleepwalking again. LOL
I'd like to see the photo too.
