I only buy so much stuff to try to mask my odor. I am not a scent free freak like some people are. All I so is wash my clothes in the Wildlife Research Detergent and will catch me using some spray. I cannot see myself buying these scent lock suits. I've seen shows where they get busted wearing them.. I try to play the wind and cross my fingers..

I wash my clothes in baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda in my boots after each use. And hunters specialties shampoo is inexpensive enough that I use that. I recently made a batch for spray that's just hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, water and shampoo

Watching the wind and using it to your adavantage is your best bet. I do wash hunting cloths in baking soda to start season, after that they are hung on cloths line rest of season and after each use. (Let mother nature wash them after that.) I have 5 sets of cloths so I just rotate their use. Rubber boat's are a must and I have 2 pairs of them. I use a good fox urine scent as a cover for bottom of boat's and that is it. No buck lure or doe in estrous scent's for me. One natural cover scent I use when available is cedar. Just pull of a handfull of needles and rub on your cloths and hands. ( Very powerfull scent and it's free.) My thoght process is to leave as little human scent in hunting area as possible.

I am kind of a freak about my scent control. Use dead down wind shampoo and scent away bar soap. I also use dead down wind detergent and spray to wash my gear and have a special tote I only use for storing them in. This has not proven to be 100% effective, I still try to play the wind but I've also been busted by a few deer. Just the way I have always been I guess. I like to do everything in my power to not be busted by a deer down wind, even if its costly.

I work to eliminate scent and have found different strategies for different locations. The place I hunt the most is Urban and the deer are not spooked too much by human scent so I don't worry about it too much but still wash, shower and spray with a scent eliminator, I do hunt a rural property that has a lot of wood burning heaters and people seems to burn a lot in the area so I smoke my clothes for those hunts and it seems to work the majority of the time as I was rarely busted and probably more for movement than scent, and finally another country spot that is mostly fields I wash my clothes and self in Dead Down Wind and spray down once I get to the field. I probably get busted at this property the most because there is the least amount of human intrusion so it seems my scent must stick out to the deer. #1 Play the wind and #2 Know the scents in your area and how to scent eliminate accordingly.

Keep my clothes cleaned, use some spray, shower with scent free soap and I do have a scent blocker dream season suit. Biggest waste of money, in my experience, that I have so far. Cheaply made and was falling apart before my first season was up. I do play the wind also and keep clothes in plastic containers.

I don't use anything special, if you hunt with the wind in your favor you don't have a problem. I guess I just learned the old school way.

I wash my hunting clothes in scent-free laundry soap and bag them up. I keep my rubber boots bagged up as well. I do not dress out until I am in the field. I never, never, never (did I say "never"?) wear my hunting clothes or boots in a vehicle or dwelling. I shower in Scent-A-Way green soap. That's the extent of it. I introduce NO cover or attractant scents to my body or the area I'm hunting. I watched a buck spook this year and run from a grey fox -- so I'm glad I don't use fox urine. LOL!
That said, if you have the right wind, you can be the smelliest sucker in the woods. I took my best bow buck this year wearing damp hunting clothes that had been lying on the laundry room floor, and didn't even have time to shower in scent-free soap before heading out. I ended up having a perfect wind, and the rest is history.

I use cover scent for walking into the woods then hunt the wind, I haven't been busted yet.

I take less precautions now than I used to. I use free and clear detergent...have to because daughter breaks out in hives if clothes are washed in scented stuff. I use hunters shampoo and bar soap...funny thing though, I can smell the stuff, hmm....
I try to play the wind, but some days, that's just not possible because of shifting and swirling.
That's pretty much it. I don't get busted any more now than I did when I was more diligent about it...maybe less, actually. I think I've gotten better over the years at placing stands where I can play the wind to my best advantage based on my knowledge of the properties I hunt. That's really the BEST scent control and money can't buy that. You just have to learn from mistakes.

I spray a little scent a way on my outer layer and boots. Then I go to my stand and have a cigarette. So I am not spending a lot of money on scent control. The hunters killed deer before all of that stuff was even around, and still do without it.

Never have used any scent control products. Never had any problems killing deer because of it. Started bow hunting in 06 and I was told by another hunter, you need to use scent control to be able to get the deer in closer. Killed deer every year since, without scent control and artificial attractants like doe pee. Location and wind is all you need.

Watching the wind and using it to your adavantage is your best bet. I couldn't tell ya how many times I've put down a smoke to shoot a deer. Yea I'm sure I leave a lot of scent behind, but I continue to shoot several deer every year if I choose too. I'm very lucky to have several place to hunt that allows me to hunt no matter the wind direction. As a matter of fact I put a smoke out not 5 minutes before I shot my 150 inch 10 pointer last week. Shot him at 40 yards. He never knew I was there.

My buck this year I had just put out a cig and he came within 20 yards right after without scenting me. I think smoking and peeing out of your stand are those two long misunderstood things. Smoke actually covers your human scent and the pee drives the bucks crazy. Neither run them off
