About time for the ducks to start there plummage (sp?) isnt it? im not seein very many startin to get there drake colors yet. When should they start to really color up?

we usually have several every year that are not full color during the October season. I should be in the next month or so. It just takes awhile for all the feathers to grow back in.

I have seen quite a few drake with 3/4 plummage on the north side... Not a majority but they are noticably drakes at 65 mph

I just returned from SouthEast Michigan sunday and there was a youth hunter that returned from the hunt with a real good looking woodie.
Last year while in Saskatchewan around the 10th of October we shot a bunch of full colored green heads and Pintails.

dumped the boat in one of my fav lakes this mornin at daylight scoutin.... come accross some really good numbers of mallards/teal/ and few handfuls of geese..... saw 3 real good lookin greenheads... and quite a few others lookin like my season they will be all purdy come on youth weekend!!

oh i get to hunt alright!! who cares about pullin the trigger i would much rather watch them have a blast than me shootin the ducks anyway..... i will shoot my share.... but that youth weekend is just as fun as our normal openin weekend i think anyway
