Yesterday, the alarm went off at 4:00. I spent the next hour driving around picking up boys and two girls. The kids who helped with our DU banquet last spring got a little thank you hunt. We set them up in a field to get a few birds. I called as did another committee member. After the hunt(brids didn't move, had a loner come in- I coulda nailed it, but tried to let the kids shoot), we chowed down on barbe-que, cooked wild boar, and all the fixings. The kids reloaded and tried to shoot a few doves. Had a blast! For two kids it was their first hunt ever. two others had deer hunted but never waterfowled.
My son, he's almost guide quality when it comes to hunting. took his girlfriend( he a freshman in HS, girl 8th grader. This is getting serious, he took her hunting. All that's left is an engagement ring right?
