Hey Crew
I heard that there are stingent rules on hunting the Ohio River in L'ville. Somethign to the effect of ... 1. You can't hunt 6 mile island at all and 2. at 12 mile you can't get out of the boat at all.
Are these rules true and are there any other ones I should know about. Sorry for the ignorance but I don't want to make any more OOPS.

On an Indiana license you can't get out on or anchor on any island. As for Louisville hunting, I would suspect there are firearms restrictions for the corporate limits on both sides of the river.

REally??? b/c i heard you could anchor off of 12 mile island and hunt just not get out. Does anyone know where these rules are posted? Any help is appreciated.

With an INDIANA lic NO PART of you or your gear (anchors) can touch land of islands or the KY shoreline. You can anchor your boat next to an Island, just make sure your stuff is IN THE WATER.

Better to ask a CO familiar with the area...

ICO Mick Rutherford or ICO Mac Spainhour would be the guys to talk to about this. They are available through the Clark County Sherriff's department. You might also want to talk to a CO from KY just to be sure.
