Very slow, not very many ducks, however lots of geese. I drove around the same areas I drive by every year and for the past 5-7 years the number of ducks has been on the decline. Goose numbers are about the same or a little lower probably due to the early and late goose seasons taking it's toll on resident geese. The bright note so far is my 7 month old YFL pup ( the one who's leg I ran over this summer) has healed up nicely and on Sunday she made her first dead duck retrieve making me feel that all the $$$ I spent on her was all worth it. She has big paws to fill as she will slowly be fazing out my older female. The season is young and by the reports I have read on the DU site it's slow everywhere here in the no duck zone.

I've hunted the past 15 years up there around feather duster and the ducks have moved out of that area something fierce. I think it is the windmill farms south of him changing the jet stream...or something like that! Last year or two there haven't been hardly any geese either. Makes hanging out at my mother in laws tough!!!!
