This year I am going to try my hand at doing European's for a few people along with my processing. Two weeks ago I lightly simmered two bear skulls in Sal Soda and everything came out great, even left the spider web looking stuff in the nasal cavity. Anyhow I heard that bear skulls should be degreased before whitening, (salon 40) so I have had the skulls soaking in paint thinner. My question is when I take them out should I now soak them in clean soapy water before whitening or just rinse them off? How long should I let them soak in soapy water? I have done SEVERAL of my own skulls but have never used the whitener, and never degreased first and after a year or so they start getting a light yellowing look to them so that's my reason for degreasing.
