I arrowed one on October 2 on a cattle farm that I have written permission to kill them on sight year round. I found my bloody arrow, but couldn't locate the coyote in the thick, brushy hillside. About a half hour before that, I had a low-flying helicopter get a whole pack howling in broad daylight probably 75 yards from me -- right where I expected deer to come from. I even got some video footage of two of them eating something in the edge of a field.
We are overrun with them here, and I heard no less than two separate packs howling this morning right before legal shooting light for deer. After my deer season is over, hopefully I can bust a few.

I wait until after firearms season. I also need to get a better caller and won't have the funds until tax time. Not sure I'll make it out this year  . |

Made 7 night calling sets a few days ago. Had 1 come in but only my partner got a quick visual. I am concentrating on deer this week since only have 2 days I can hunt but will get back at it no later than next week.

I have several coyotes at my place but my caller isn't the best or my techniques (most likely the latter) are not that great. I have never called one in before. Just shot some that were in the wrong place at the wrong time. My first one I had patterned. Every morning she would slip under the fence around 0700-0730. One morning I left my bow at home and brought the T/C .22-250. And right on cue she came bouncing from underneath the fence and when she stopped...WHACK! She could not hold the well placed Hornaday round to the back of the neck! Would love to team up with some guys and thin some of them out.

Myself and two others are going to make the calling rounds tomorrow night. Looks like will be bouncing from spot to spot thru at least 3 counties. Hopefully will have a decent report to post
