One week till go time,, who all is ready? I should have my new motor up and running this weekend,, ready for the maiden voyage!!! Looks to be plenty of resident birds in the area,, and the field where I was picking them off in the early season is still holding birds. I hope this is a good sign of things time come. I might have a open seat for next weekend,, anybody interested? I rarely book anybody for the first weekend and usually always keep it for a personal satisfaction day! One of my buds is out for next weekend already,, and I need a 3rd gun to go along. So how about it?

Well well well,, it took me about 2 weeks longer than expected,, and about $2500 buckaroos later,, I finally got my boat back in workin operation!! Been down for 3 seasons now,, but I am ready to go back out on the river and see if them residents missed me or not!!! Cant believe all the problems I ran into along the way of fixing this deRn thing!! First trying to get a kohler 25 fixed turned into a disaster,, so after a couple hundred wasted on that and two years,, I finally broke down and ordered a brand spankin new in the box kohler 25 a cv730-0024. Ended up ordering it from Indiana Small Engine Warehouse out of Dunkirk, Indiana. They shipped it right to the door and that actually was the smoothest part of this entire journey. And it wasn't all that bad of a price either,, $1604 shipped to the front door!! I thought it was a good deal! Then while trying to swith it out,, took me 4 days to get the old motor free from the lower unit on my Prodrive. What a freakin nightmare that was! Finally after 2 cans of liquid wrench,, we got it off there. Then wouldn't ya know it,, the wire harness on the new kohler was totally different from the old one,, of course this cant go smooth. Couple 4-5 more days of back and forth with prodrive and kohler,, we finally got that straightened out WOW!!! The put all back together and had a hard time finding a new muffler,, of course its the one thing that doesn't come with a new engine. Then after that mess was fixed and everything wired up and running like a champion,, BAM,, could not get the clutch to engage!! Oh my goodness I have had enough already!! Turned out my push/pull PTO clutch swith was fried!! So put a new engage swith on!! Now with that on and the new motor purring like a kitten,, the gosh deRn lights on my boat would not work. Man I have had enough already!! Well after some re-wiring and poking and checkin,, finally got that problem fixed. Can anything else go wrong,, of course it can,, turns out my accessory battery was fine,, but the start battery for the gas motor was dead,, BAM there goes another buck from wally world. Then today after some decoy checkin,, I notice neither of my mojo's are workin,, so BAM,, off to Dicks I go,, got another baby hen mallard fer $60,, which wasn't all that bad considering the journey I have had so far!! Hooked it up and charged it,, and what do ya know I could not believe it,, finally something worked,, my remote still in the old mojo was workin!! Just needed a new battery in the clicker!! Now after all this mess,, Could I get somebody to say a prayer fer me that I might be able to whack and stack a few this weekend? Thanks for listening to me cry fellas,, have a good hunt on me!!
