Max is my bird boy. He has been helping me train Bailey this summer. For his help, I have been letting him shoot clay targets. Well the shooting paid off. Hour and a half hunt, 10 doves, and he shot a true double on his first dove hunt ever. Bailey had to work real hard to find these doves. Cover was very thick.

That's great, Tim! How old is he? BTW, what is "F I"

He is a very small 13 year old.
F I dates back to when waterfowl hunting forums first got started. Hoosier Jim's was the sight. It was said there that all true waterfowlers had to be in the F I club. We get up way before any one else, go out into the worst of weather, and hide in the worst of stuff, only to shoot at a feather fowl. Are you starting understnad what F I might stand for?

Insane is close and could work. Don't try guessing the first word on here. It could get you in trouble.

I don't need to guess. I'm pretty sure I've had it figured out for a while! ;D

Great! Glad you had a good hunt.
How'd Mojo Dove work? Did Bailey do well? Forgot to warn you he tends to eat any doves that are left laying around the blind.

He can be sneaky. The only time he got them off of me, I was sending Ice after a bird, and he snagged one from under my chair and quietly hid while he swallowed it whole. The only evidence remaining were a few feathers and one bird short on the count. Todd

I have learned not to leave a bird out for any dog. I knew Bailey was bad at this so I left one out so I could teach him something.

Congrats on a great hunt. I lurked on Hoosier Jim's the last two years of high school when I started waterfowling. That was a great site.

Congrats on a great hunt. I lurked on Hoosier Jim's the last two years of high school when I started waterfowling. That was a great site. With some of the topics and pictures they had on Hooz's sight, I would have to say you were not old enough to be on that sight the last two years of high school. Those guys were nuts.
