Anyone hunted Goose Pond? I got drawn for goose pond for a reserved hunt and was wanting some info about it. Are there blinds or areas that they allow so many parties hunt that area? On the units, are they deep? can you wade them, or use a small jon boat? I have a 12 ft. john boat. and trolling motor. How many total hunters can hunt with you, can 2 plus me hunt with me? Is there a shell limit up there. Lot of questions, never hunted up there and plan on taking my boys up there for a Father & Son hunt. I would like to see them get some birds.
Thanks for any Help Brian

Yes to most of it!
U can use a boat but no ramps or motors. U can wade most but there are deep areas. Some units are a decent hike. No blinds, u make your own. Parties are 3 people max. They don't like single hunters. Shell limit was 15 last year, but was told it was increased. If you got an early date or when birds are in expect to share your pick. Most hunt 2 groups some more but as long as everyone is smart it has never impacted my hunts

Typically good. It freezes fast but you won't have to worry but there will be plenty of parties. Don't be late to the 1st day draw!

It's hard to say, depends on when birds are here I have usually done good right before it freezes, but have also busted holes in the ice and shot birds like that

Went up there today and saw hardly any ducks, a ton of coots. They did have youth season today and sunday, but other than that, not much in sight.

Good luck Duck Master on your hunt. Regardless of your harvest, you'll have a great time with your sons.
Have you ever eaten coot?

No, I got out and walked some of the units, but really did not see anything. I am guessing that the youth hunt had them gone some other place. I got up there around 11 am their time, and all hunters were gone by then, you could see where some had walked in. But over all, I spent about 3 hours up there. Maybe I just did not know where all to look, because I walked to some areas that I could and did not see much but coots. But this was my first time up there also, so I know I must have missed some areas and where to walk and look.

Just ask the property manager what blind he puts his boss in whenever he wants to entertain guests.

Just ask the property manager what blind he puts his boss in whenever he wants to entertain guests. Is that a "public blind" or strictly reserved for the uppers?
