While NOT an intention to state one is "better" than another, I am curious as to the "trend" if there is one, on what broadhead type most are using and while this is a drop in the bucket as a really good cross reference to all the hunters around, it would still be interesting, to me at least. FAIRLY sure of the averages out there on what is "normally" used but curious anyway. The sheer NUMBER of head types, technologies, widths, number of blades, etc etc is never ending, more and more added annually. Pretty mind boggling. If you would, a vote on what head TYPE you are MOSTLY using this year (if more than one) AND another vote on if you use lighted nocks or not this year. Each member has two votes. Preferably one will be on heads, one on nocks used, please. A short note if this is a new choice for you, or not, for 2013 would be appreciated if you wish to add such. FWIW, they ALL WORK put in the correct spot. I'm just being nosey. May not be lots of interest in being involved in this poll, and that is fine too, but it stops the end of Oct. God Bless!!

A quick note on the fourth choice above and why I added that.
There are some heads out there that have one fixed blade and one mechanical blade incorporated within ONE broadhead and the reason for this addition.
God Bless
For myself. The Toxic head and S size After Burn nocks, X size Nocturnal nocks.

I went with a fixed blade this year called qad exodus. They look nasty and fly like field points.
I have always used expandable bh's and figure a change would be good. I hope to get a pass through this year.

I'll use 2-blade Rage 125 grain with the crossbow and 3 blade 100 grain Muzzys with the compound.

I have Slick Trick Magnums, Grizz Tricks, Muzzy Phantom MXs, and Toxics ready to go depending on which quiver I pick up. All are 100 grain, tuned to the individual arrow, and hit with the field points. I plan on giving a Toxic first chance just to see what they do.
No lighted nocks.

You don't have an option for knapped stone, or handmade metal trade points.

You don't have an option for knapped stone, or handmade metal trade points. Unless there are models I am not aware of, either would be "fixed non replaceable blades" ? Messing with you. LOL. I had thoughts on such with my history in trad equipment, but not primitive, but tried to give groups that included everything I could come up with. The fixed non-replaceable blade one took in everything Ive ever used in trad heads....at least IMO. God Bless

I had actually begun to switch to COC, specifically Muzzy Phantoms, a few years ago, and killed my last deer using a Phantom before a physical setback that took me out of the woods for serious hunting for a couple years.
This year, though, I am back up to shooting at 56# with the Mathews, and discovered a package of unused NAP Thunderheads in 125 grains in an old tackle box in the garage. I had been experimenting with heavier heads and lighter shafts while shooting field points, and the discovery of the TH's gave me the opportunity to try the heavier broadheads with the lighter shafts. I liked the results, and decided to return to the TH's this year. I had always liked their performance and durability, before switching to Muzzy years ago, and have complete confidence in them. Also have a good supply on hand, since I also had three other bodies and a BUNCH of slightly used blades suitable for resharpening and reuse.
Spend no dime before it's time.
Shooting nice groups out to 40 yards with them, reliably. Very happy with prior experience with them. Looking forward to getting a couple of them bloody this year.
