Nice.
In my opinion there isn't a prettier bird out there than the drake wood duck.

Good hunt!
Why Indiana doesn't have an earlier season for them is beyond me. Last weekend of goose season we saw roughly 30 heading to a small creek by our hunting spot. It got me in the mood for duck season for sure.

My goodness that's an awefull lot of hens in there!!! Nothing gets by you! Looks like a fun hunt to me. We used to go down to Sloughs several years ago, but don't anymore.

I could be wrong,, looks like maybe 2 immature drakes in there also? The one on the left and the second from the right? I didn't even know KY had a woody season,, for sure we could use it. I know couple years ago me and a bud made a south zone opening day run to a spot on the Bash that held tons of woodies every year,, we would pick and choose lookin fer drakes. It was the only ducks that were there,, and that was when it was only two woodies,, so it was fairly easy to hold back. Woodies are a blast the way they crash land in!!

You might see them on open water, but you're more likely to see them on small ponds surrounded by timber or creeks/rivers lined with timber.
