Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I'm completely new to hunting although I did take a hunter safety class way way back. I'm interested in learning long bow.

There are several traditional archers on here that head you in the right direction with a longbow. Trapperdave and Voodoofire1 are two that come to mind off the top of my head.. Enjoy!!

Good to have a new female aboard to class this place up and keep us on our best behavior! Welcome! I'll do my best! Dragged Hubby (okay I didn't have to drag him) to Bass Pro tonight and looked at recurve bows. A PSE 30lb draw seems a good starting point but I think I'll track down some people in the archery section and pick their brains. I did do 35lb draw pretty easy on the tester bow! Going to have to find this trapperdave and voodoofire1. Thanks, Woody for the point in the right direction!

35# is the minimum for deer hunting so that extra 5# is worth going for since it sounds like you can handle it fine.

Welcome! Yes, it's nice to have a new female join the group.
I met a young lady at Menard's this past weekend. She was working the cash register and asked if I was getting ready for hunting. She was a hunter too. I love to see women in this sport.
Good luck with the longbow. I don't think that I could ever be good at that, but it sure is cool!
