A field my Dad has been watching had manure spread in it yesterday. I assume it probably has corn in it. I never thought of this but someone on another site told me to be careful because it could be considered baited.

Sounds like a normal agricultural practice to me, but I'm no lawyer.

with Chico. I'd touch base with your local ICO for EXACT clarification.

I'd say your OK unless you put the corn-filled poo there on purpose to attract geese. But like JWkimber said above, check with the local CO.

The rules and regulations, especially those concerning baiting have room for interpretation and enforcement. The only person who's opinion matters is the actual CO that will arrive and conduct an investigation in the event the legality of how you are hunting is called into question. I recommend contacting THE Conservation Officer that is responsible for covering that specific area and getting an answer directly from him. 99/100 times you'll be considered within the law, but that 1 time an officer interprets the law differently it's going to cost you big time.

You might be able to get your limit in possums at the same time.

Better safe than sorry because the CO could be a city slicker and/or not from Indiana and not familiar with common Hoosier ag practices...

If they arrested me for baiting in a manure field. I'd be HOT!
