Have a good friend and hunting buddy who lives in Marion, and has always told me of the goose hunting around Crab Orchard. He says there are numerous "clubs" in that area, some private [$$$$$$$$$], and the one you posted about. He lives on Saluki Lake, just a few miles from there, and while staying at his house en route to Colorado, I have seen the sky almost get black with geese. If you have plenty of money to burn, go for it. He laughs when telling me about guys lining up at some of those places, waiting for their turn in the pits, but everyone who goes to that area gets their birds.

Crab Orchard ain't what it used to be. Lots of snow geese later on and through the conservation season.

They told me the goose hunting isnt what it use to be. They shot 1500 birds last year. when u consider a 60 day season an 8-10 hunter per day, that not much of an average. An as far as paying for a guided hunt 125 a day with a meal provided is pretty cheap for a guided hunt.

That's probably a half day price? Anyway, that's about the going price.
I have land along the Wabash R. that is good (at times) for ducks and geese. Free la ce hunting only. We do have one blind.
