Hey guys, Just wanted to share that me, my wife, and 2 young daughters are getting readly to leave on vacation tomorrow morning. Gonna load up the tent and spend 8 or 9 days camping our way around Lake Michigan. We don't have any stops set in stone, just gonna wing it. I invested in a thermacell for our campsites and some bug spray, so hopefully we're all set.
Will try to post up some pictures when we get back. I expect to see some beautiful scenery.

Thats sounds cool as heck.. I have thought about doing that also,, but have not tried yet. I live just off the beaten path of the lake and take a Sun drive on the SW corner atleast a couple times a year. Its like a whole another world around the lake. Are you staying over anywhere between Michigan City, IN and Benton Harbor, MI?
Oops,, just seen you aleady left,, Might now be traving with access to the WEB? I should have seen this sooner.....

Have always talked about doing the same, but not quite that long. Thinking a 2-3 day trip would be fun to try. Went up to Mackinaw City a few years ago on Memorial weekend, before all the tourists were there, very nice trip. Hope you guys have a nice time.

Just got back saturday, it was a very nice trip. We spent: 1 night a PJ Hoffmaster State Park near Muskegon, MI
3 nights at Wilderness State Park near Mackinaw City (great swimming beach)
1 daytrip to Mackinac Island
2 nights at JW Wells State Park near Escanaba, MI
2 nights at Bigfoot Beach State Park at Geneva Lake, WI
Saw a porcupine, played alot of horseshoes, and enjoyed the cooler weather. Every place in Michigan was in the 70's while we were there. It was pretty hot in Wisconsin for the last couple of days, but not unbearable. Took the kids to Oswald's Bear Rescue Center near Lake Superior one day, they really liked that.
8 nights was not nearly long enough to take everything in. We could drive that lap every summer for 10 years and still find interesting new places to visit.
