There are a couple of members in here that are selling boats in the classified ad section or you can go on craigslist and look at boats , then go to walmart , bass pro or cabala's and buy the camo burlap for $10 or $20 dollars and find some poles and start a do it yourself project , there is a member or so that have done something like what i just mentioned . i'm going to start such a project once my car gets fixed .

yes, I don't need much. A friend did offer me his jon boat to use, but he said that it might be heavy to drag. I was told that I had to drag a boat onto Goose Pond. I still haven't scouted it yet.

I bet no one saw this coming...... yes, I don't need much. A friend did offer me his jon boat to use, but he said that it might be heavy to drag. I was told that I had to drag a boat onto Goose Pond. I still haven't scouted it yet. Can I suggest the Willowpine Marsh Boat!? Here is one I made last year for the same thing you're trying to do (what I gathered by your posts). www.willowpine.net/2013/02/make-your-own-willowpine-marsh-boat.htmlI've never had to drag mine more than 50 yards at goose pond, and on the 2nd one we built, we put removable tires on the back. Here is thread all about it also.... hunt-indiana.com/thread/43231/homemade-layout

Also I looked at the one you posted, and that would be a great boat for lakes, rivers, etc. However most of the FWA hunts do NOT allow gas motors, so I'd say it's a lot of overkill for somewhere like Goose Pond. I have both a 11' Jon Boat (post above) with trolling motor or paddles for marsh and FWA hunts. I also have a 16' Flat Bottom with a 30HP Evinrude motor that is used for big water and rivers. This will be the first year with the 16' boat, so that'll be nice.

I'm very impressed with what you did to yours; I hope I can make mine look half as good. I'm so excited about duck season now. I went crow hunting tonight just for practice.

Do you go fishing? I'd get that boat on the river just to start finding the channels. Fishing in the summer is a good time and way to learn the areas. If you're a fisherman, PM you cell and we'll get out sometime.

I got what she didn't want like recycled oil; I guess it's the thought that counts. Sure Joey, I'd love to go fishing with you. I'm about as easy to get along with as they come. I don't know much about White River, but I think some places aren't passable. I hope that I don't find these too late.

I bought a 16' jon boat this weekend, and am in the process of doing the joeyb to it. I've taken everything off and have started sanding. Man, this sanding is going to take a while. It's a really fun project though; I love projects. I almost hate to post a photo of it; it won't look as good as Joey's ...BUT it will be mine! :-)
Thanks Joey for the instructions!

Just ordered some new hubs, wheels and tires. I'm upgrading to a 12" tire. Still sanding, but making progress. I got dehydrated last week sanding; it was hot and humid! I made good progress today.

I feel your pain. That was by far the worst part, but well worth it!
