Hello to everyone, My name is Eric P. Estes and i'm the man in charge of the Indiana State Sanctioned Duck calling contest. Actually have been for 2 years now. Any how this years contest is shaping up to be a good one. The following is what i have planned for this year. I really recomend that if anyone has a child that is interested in calling or duck hunting to get them in for Butch Richenbecks class on Friday he will have them hooked for life on ducks trust me he's awesome!!! anyhow read on and ask away any questions you may have.

The pre-event warm up: Come down to Bass Pro and get some tips from the legends of duck calling.
20 time WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP qualifier, Charles Petty, will be conducting a calling seminar (for the adults)sponsored by Rich-N-Tone (RNT) on Friday, August 24th. Along with RNT founder and Champion of Champions Butch Richenback who will be on hand to teach all of our future champions the secret to calling!

Entry: FREE

Where: Our seminar room located on the 2nd floor behind the gun department. At Bass Pro shops Portage, Indiana

Time: 7pm till finish (basically, as long as the crowd needs)

First 25 kids/teenagers 18 and under will receive a free RNT duck call.
THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY THAT YOU WILL WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF.

This presentation will consist of how to hands on demonstrations. A question and answer session will take place after the seminar.

The contests: On Saturday August 25th 2007

Winner of the Indiana State Duck Calling Contest at Bass Pro Shops qualifies for the World Championships in Stuttgart Arkansas.

One Man Time: Immediately following two man!

One Man State Contest Entry Fee: $40
Prize for event:$500 cash, State Plaque, Final approach Gear, and more!

Two Man Time: 1:00 p.m.
Two Man State Contest Entry Fee: $40 per team
Prize for event: FREE TWO MAN HUNT waterfowl hunt!!! and more!!

Kids Time: 10:00 a.m.
Kids Event Fee: (17 and Under) FREE
Prizes to be named day of event.

Events on Sunday August 26th 2007

One Man Time: Immediately following two man!
Bass Pro shop Open(one man) Fee: $40
Prizes: 1000.00 CASH!! Final approach Gear, Foiles Gear, MORE!!

Two Man Time: 1:00 p.m.
Two Man Event Fee: $40 per team
Prizes: FREE TWO MAN waterfowl hunt!!

Kids Time: 10:00 a.m.
Kids Event Fee: (17 and Under) FREE
Prizes: to be deteremined day of event

I thought I would bump this to the top, this is going to be a great time guys! This will be the biggest waterfowl event of the season here in Indiana. All of the big call companies will be there with prostaff and product, FA will be there also with Big Sean Hammock there, and I believe he is doing a seminar. Also Butch Richenback will be there and Charles Petty. Alot of seminars going on throughout both days along with the calling contests, they are going to be having a retriever dog demonstration and also retriever competition. If you've ever thought of competing the 2 man is ALOT of fun and no pressure because you're there with a partner. I hope you all will plan on attending, would love to see you up there! I'll be there both to man a booth for Buck Gardner Calls, and also to compete. Also I'll be doing a seminar on Sat and Sun, I've given it much thought on what to speak about, and I'm come to the conclusion to speak on "Call maintenance and tuning, both duck and goose calls" So if you've ever wanted to know how to tune your call this will be good! Anyway, just keeping this thread alive.

I'm a Natural Born Killer,,, never even thought about "calling" to win money,, but I am gonna check it out.... I love to "call" birds in,, and I love "money"

I've got a secret weapon up my sleeve to get them over to my booth!!;D You all will have to come over to see what it is!! ;D Also on the duck competitons, etc., it is being ran by the Kankakee River Hunting Retriever Club, and the contact info to sign up etc, contact Tom Jones at 219-762-1529 or tacjones3@verizon.net . It says space is limited to the first 25 dogs and entry fees are $20 per dog. Also I was reading they are going to have a rock wall to climb, moon walk for the kids, paintball shooting area, slides, games, fishing contests all for kids to do. They are going to have an archery contest, sign up by Aug. 24th $5 entry fee, winner will receive $200 gift certificate, and those who place will receive archery accessories. Just alot going on, should be a fun time.

Hey Matt .... Yes this is Michael. I actually switched my id on the other site as well to this so it would correspond. It's good to be on the site. I look forward to learning from everyone.

On the calling competition ... What are the start times again? I think I am just misreading the info you all so nicely provided. Of course I did work the Hunting Classic this weekend and my brain is fried.

What time do things get fired up that day. I'm really wanting to come up and see/hear this competition.
