Very soon they will start heading for open land on the edges of town. Time to start sharpen skills,, tweekin and tunin calls,, cleanin the dekes,,, get the camo ready,,, re-grassing and re-muding the blinds. Scratchin the dogs butt. Scratchin my butt. Its getting very close now gents ;D ;D ;D

Sat out on neighbors patio tonight .. drank a few... and watched the most awesome sight known to mankind about 9:30. 9 (yes i can count that high) geese come right over the house... feet out and slowly glided into the lake right infront of our houses. Man i got it bad..... drove by our "new" pond on the way home .. solid 100 on it. Used to be a half moon shape.. now it was dug to a full circle with an island in the middle... surrounded by hay..... CASH MONEY!!!

Well!! apparantley... weeeeeeeeee had a minor grass...... wheat fire today at one of our fields.... hmm.... mighty mighty black ... i thinkin that field might just be spent... UNLESS.... the volunteer wheat comes through still.... i can say this is a first.

Might be your ticket to success too Burn any of the weeds popping up and let the new green stuff pop up in the right timeframe to make it work...at least you can hope

Noble, there was a grass fire real close to one of my spots about a month ago... Granted, it wasn't a wheat field, but it was grass. Yesterday, you couldn't even tell that there was a fire... You will be suprised on how fast that new growth will come up.. In your case hopefully the volunteer wheat.....Hope for the best...

One of my spots is in the middle of my boss's yard.. I am no land expert,, but my guess is 4 acres?? He keeps it mowed like a park. He lives just outside of town. When they start heading out of town after roosting on the river all night,, I set the BIGFOOTS right in the yard and hide up against his christmas tree's... Doesnt take much callin,, just let them come right in....Urban hunting at its best.... Its funny cause last year everyone thought I was huntng in someones lake-front yard,, when actually there is no water for 5 miles around this house,, except for maybe a pond here and there ;D ;D ;D
