I want/will go on a spec. hunt this winter. Anyone know of a good outfitter in say... Missouri or Iowa that you could recommend? Figure i ask before i book with someone just in case some of you have happened to go on one. No it doesnt need to be strictly specklebellly only but i really really want one..... That bein said.. anyone else wanna go? Would like to get 4-6 guys maybe. I know i will have 3 atleast but thinkin might be nice to meet up with a couple other hoosier waterfowlers for a weekend

Noble, I know of a guy from Alexandria, IN, he is a guide down there in the spring for snows, etc. He might be a good contact for you, his name is Kyle Williams and the name of his guide service is Crittr' Gittr' Outfittr's, I'll look up his number for you and pass it along. He is a great guy, and he prostaffs for a different call company than I do.

They decoy very well to canada decoys and calls. Speck calls are hard to learn to use well. Hoosierhunter should be able to help you out w/one of Buck's calls, the Speckwrecker. The reed looks very different but it works like a short reed. I now have a Red Bone call. What I'm getting at is you can do it on your own w/out a guide. I like to hunt them in Kansas, and it's very easy to get permission to hunt on private land, unlike here. I just might go back this year.

www.showmesnowgeese.comThose guys are goose hunting nutjobs! We hunted in their unguided fields for ducks the last couple years but have been by some of their goose fields and you'd have no trouble shooting specs.

Thanks for the props Matt. I guide in NW Missouri for snows in the spring. We do occasionally make it out there in the fall and do kill a few specks, but I wouldnt take your money from you promising you'll kill specks. If you're looking for a good consistant speck hunt it would be hard to beat Texas or Lousiana.
(we did kill one here in Madison county this year though)
