Most of of you that now me somewhat know that i cant even drive a nail without someone holding it for me. So i set my goals high (for me) and decided to re do my deck by myself without any assistance. I had two goals going in, Not to use the F word, any during construction and not to cut off any fingers in the process. I failed misreably on the first one on the very first day when i lost my balance and fell off and cut my knee. LOL I managed to get it done with only slight assistance. (if you count 4 yr old girls holding the boards for you) Now i just have to figure out what to do with the red posts.

Looks good John. If you can get a good pressure washer you might be able to get all the red off and stain them. That is if they are pressure treated. Otherwise I would paint them white or the same color as your shutters. Eith way it looks good.

Good job! Now you can try changing the oil in your car.........use that yellow thing to get the plug off of the oil pan, and the rest is a breeze! When you are done with that, Alliegence will let you service the tractors down on the farm.

911,
The red thing in pic #2............. Tell me that is not a Little Tykes saw-zaw that you were trying to use? It didn't work very well did it? Allegience.....he doesn't show up at the farm with plastic "Bob the Builder" wrenches in his back pocket does he?

Are the tags on the ends of the decking boards part of the design plan?

Congrats John on keeping your trigger finger attached to your hand! Looks good. I used a pressure washer to blast off red stain just like yours last summer on our deck, then I restained it. The PW will work fine, just take your time and don't get too close to the wood or else it will blast away the actual wood.
John the builder......CAN HE FIX IT.....John the builder........YES HE CAN!!!!

Good work, are you for hire now? I was going to build a deck then I found out the lumber was going to cost $2200 or so, and I said on that and I hired a friend of mine who is in the process of doing a stamped and stained patio with a fire pit in it. Should be wrapped up this week, then I have a weeks worth of yard work to fix the mess that was made. But I'm going to have a cookout and Kyle, Travis, Art and John your invited if you want to come?

I thought I heard Stallion mumbling something about how big his deck was on that goose hunt while marking his territory.
