Why do people in my opinion spoil there videos with music. if we wanted to hear music then we would put in the search box music. hunting turkeys and the music starts, i just aint gonna happen is it? unless turkeys and whitetails dance. we should be listening to the birds, and indeed silence, please cut out the awful music. right that is my moan thank you for listening, hehhehe good week end Billy

Because that's what the big time hunting shows do. Trouble is, most of them suck. Amateur video makers should pattern themselves after Meat Eater if anything. No frills...tell/show the story, just as it happened. Worts and all. Precious few of those shows exist.

With you 100% Billy!
One of my pet peeves since the first hunting vid's I ever saw. I can even understand the ridiculous whispering commentary that is obviously done in post-action dubbing but whispered to be "realistic". At least there's some justification for that attempt.
No justification whatever for drowning out the background sounds of nature (or the feeder noises as it scatters the corn,or the traffic noise in the background).
The current omnipresence of musical accompaniment to everything is disturbing enough with TV commercials and cop dramas. Reminds of the old Hollywood westerns when we could always tell that the redskins were about to attack by orchestra's switch to something vaguely reminiscent of tom-tom's.
At least in the old Hollywood movies the hero and the villains could be heard and their dialogue understood because the silly music was silent during the speaking portions of the films. Got pretty intense during chase scenes, though.
Wish with modern technology we could at least have the music on separate track so that the viewer could delete or diminish the volume on it to find out anything being whispered actually contained any words of wisdom regarding the hunt.

I agree, and while we are at it I can add music ring tones on cell phones. When I call you I don't want to listen to your favorite song. Just a ring a ding will work.

Agree..
Especially dislike the hard rock stuff...
BUT.. I VERY seldom ever watch a "hunting video".
Hunting to me is not a "spectator sport" unless it is a dad/mom/grandpa with a youth....or a husband taking his wife..

Couldn't agree more! I could go on and on with the pitiful production quality of not just home-made stuff, but shows that are on Outdoor Channel and Sportsman's Channel. Everything from setting up recovery scenes, to jump cuts, to horrible attempts at creativity... just shoot the video and let me see what happened. I don't need all the cutaways that are recreated after the kill shot. Barf!!!!

iv got to watch the videos woody, got no turkeys or white tails or bow hunting over here. Shooting a lot of roe actually gets like doing a job after 35 or so years, hehehhee. But i still love it. They reckon a change is as good as a rest. regards Billy

If someone else enjoys them (bad music or not) that is them. The hunting videos are a two edged sword.. They do good and bad...depending on the audience.. Again - IMHO.. .
