I got in my pop up blind at 5 am. I wanted to get in there before it started to rain hard. Finally around 11 it quit raining and at noon I switched from my rubber decoy to my "stuffer". At 2pm my buddy texted me and said he had killed one and he would give me the details later. Around 4:30 he texted me again and said his bird weighed 24 lbs, an 11" beard and 1 5/8" spurs! I was texting him back to say "congrats"when a gobbler popped out next to me, he was running towards my stuffer. By the the time I got my gun on him he was already flogging my decoy. I shot him at 12 yards. He weighed 24lbs, had an 11" beard and 1 1/4" spurs. It was a long day and needless to say I was a happy hunter.

Those pop-up blinds are great but after 11+ hours those walls were probably pretty tight.

Thats pretty impressive! Eleven hours of sitting anywhere and the paramedics would be carrying me off still in a sitting position.

Congratulations!
You certainly earned that bird.
Now - When are you going down to Kentucky for the final bird to complete the Tri-State (Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky) Trifecta?
