Greetings
I have had the first farmer at the door last night saying that his sheep are lambing and he has lost two to a fox.
So here we go again chasing mutton eating foxes, the first job is going to check the 22 hornet is on zero, i like the hornet with 35gr v max ammo, it gets the job done and if the little bullet does exit the target it is about spent, you cannot rely on that though but it is a better bet than using the 308 in a field full of sheep and taking half his flock out as well as the fox. I don't think i would be very popular and would be off there at a rate of knots.
I could actually do without these jobs as i am right at the start of the roe buck cull but being a civil servant and a bordering. neighbour i have to show face and willing.
So you know where to find me Saturday and Sunday evenings , in the local lambing field chasing a mutton eater.
regards Billy

Do the pelts have any value at this time of the year.

Hi featherduster The pelts have no value at any time of year any more, all thanks to the green brigade and anti hunting brigade. A lady in England takes her dignity in her own hands if she is seen by these scum wearing a pelt on her coat, she is likely to be verbally abused and will probably be spat at.
Once upon a time i used to sell pelts and a good one was worth 30 pounds but not any more. regards Billy

Sorry saltydog i never see the last post , i got two foxes, the farmer is very happy which is good for me i can walk over there with a gun whenever i like now. The hornet is on home loads, it is a 35gr v max bullet on top of 12.7 grns of lilgun powder it spits it out at a 2928 fps and makes my hornet good for over 200yds i enjoy using it, even after thirty years it still makes me smile when i see a fox drop with it, hehehehe regards Billy

hi budd fell terriers are alive and kicking, just how much work they do i am not too sure, they stopped foxhunting with hounds and a lot of work for the terriers would go also. i never use them myself i prefer to shoot the foxes in a lamp, but everyone to there own regards Billy

Good shooting Billy! Could the prime pelts be shipped internationally to a fur auction house? This place gets furs from European fur ranchers, and wild furs from other countries. NAFA Click on "auctions" for info.
