Saw thousands of new ducks on Monday hitting a dry field along with a ton of geese. Looks like the cold finally pushed a big bunch of birds down.

My son and I, jumped geese and ducks off the river tonight when we were running beaver traps. There were big bunches of ducks and geese everywhere.

And once again in the state we all know and love, it's out of season. I quit hunting ducks and geese a couple of years ago, it just seems that we never get to hunt the migrators.

The state doesn't have much to say about having seasons in Feburary, but maybe in the future. But then it won't be for migrators

I would love for Indiana to do a season in Feb. like some of the other states get to enjoy. The geese shot then may not be our resident birds but it would be a good chance that they come from a city north of here. A few years ago I reported the numbers from a goose that had a neck collar, it was on a apt. pond in the South Port area. It was banded in a industrial area in Northern IN. It was in the month of Feb.

Sounds like some of you want to shoot ducks in the Spring? Now I agree that we need to get rid of the Sept. goose season & put those days in Feb, for the whole State!

I have some yards that I like to hunt in Sept.. Only time they are after grass. But I would be in favor of adding the Feb hunts ;D

As far as I know, Indiana does not have to get rid of the Sept season, to have a Feb season. They just need to do a two or three year study of the geese in the area in Feb. The Fly Way Council gave Indiana the OK to do this a couple years ago.

I never hunted in 100 degree weather, but I have hauled a lot more then 50-60 lbs of goose flesh in the Sept season. I have to say we had lots of fun.

I will say it's pretty miserable to be hunting in Sept. unless you're dove hunting. I'm all for hunting geese in Feb. I think you can get more of the residents killed easily with that season.
