Although I am not new to hunting i have never really pursued leasing private property to hunt on. Anyone know of a good way to find willing landowners? Or if you see a particular piece of property how do you find out who owns it? Thank s for your help in advance.

That is the best way I know, going through private deals. I look at all the leasing company websites on here and the prices are WAY too high. It makes sense to eliminate the middle man. That's what we've done for 12 years now. Build a relationship and make it last.

Get a copy of the county plat book that you're interested in. It lists all the owners and the properties they own, by township. They can be purchased at the county extension office of the county you are interested in.

most counties have a gis system up and running. just search for the county name followed by gis. it will give you all the information you need.
