Got to watch a pair of eagles at a nest today. When we spotted the nest we saw one sitting on it. It's mate came and they traded places.

This one is in Greene county. Is it close to the Goose Pond? Yes. You probably know where it is.

Another photo. Just wish I would have had the tripod with me so the photos would have been sharper.

If you love seeing sandhills, whoopers, all kinds of ducks, thousands of snowgeese, raptors galore this is the place and time to go. You will be amazed.

The only one I currently know of is just off of 59 south of the Goose Pond along a county road.
I was down over the weekend and was amazed at the amount of sandhill cranes. I am really looking forward to Marsh Madness this weekend.

Saw that one but didn't get close enough to check it out. They really stand out with all the foliage gone.

Saw that one but didn't get close enough to check it out. They really stand out with all the foliage gone. They had another nest there last year, but the branch broke sometime during the fall. Pretty impressive that they have built the current nest in something like six months.
